Concert Review- Bamboozle Festival

Concert festivals are quickly becoming one of the most enjoyable ways to listen to music. From Coachella to Bonnaroo, from South By South West to Lollapalooza, new festivals are sprouting up everywhere, but one of the great veteran festivals in Bamboozle. Bamboozle is a 3 day music festival feature MANY genres and MANY bands. This year was very different from the rest, however still just as enjoyable. Over the past few years, the types of music at Bamboozle has evolved, and that was extremely evident this year. The first year I went, there were bands like Nevershoutnever!, Fall Out Boy, The Maine, No Doubt,  Cobra Starship, Hollywood Undead, All Time Low and Cage The Elephant (all who, by the way, I completely recommend). This year however, there were bands like LMFAO, Chiddy Bang, Wiz Kahlifa and Lil Wayne. See a difference between the two? Thought so. Now don't get me wrong, there were still a lot of good bands like Mayday Parade, Travie McCoy, Forever the Sickest Kids, 30 Seconds To Mars, Plain White T's, New Found Glory, and I See Stars. But, there were only 1 or 2 bands there who weren't pop punk or rap. Its somewhat disappointing to see such a good genre of music start to die out of the Bamboozle festival scene, but hey, it still lives strong in Coachella. I love all types of music, so I still completely enjoyed myself through the whole weekend. I saw a lifetime worth of moshpits, drunk teens, insane fans, and belly shirts where belly shirts shouldn't be, but it was all in the name of good music. What I always love about Bamboozle, is learning about new bands and making new friends. I'm not trying to sound like an infomercial by saying that, but thats the honest truth. I learned about A LOT of new bands this year and met tons of great people. In a nut shell, though bamboozles music has evolved, it is still a spectacular festival and worth the sun burn.
